Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce
Apple picking season is HERE! Gala, Honeycrisp, and Golden Delicious are some of my family’s favorite varieties. Recently, my son and I picked apples and made Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce. It is easy to make and tastes so wonderful, like eating a fresh apple off the tree. I usually make enough to put some in the freezer for colder months, too.
There’s nothing quite so comforting in the fall as making this delicious Homemade Cinnamon Applesauce. And it’s best to make a large batch so you can put most of it in canning jars or in plastic bags in the freezer to enjoy throughout winter and spring.
It is important to start with sweet, ripe apples. Make sure to pick a variety that will cook down and dissolve easily. Golden Delicious, Fuji and McIntosh apples are the best for making applesauce because they are soft and super flavorful.
