What’s needed?
Crust:
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 sticks unsalted butter
Cream Cheese Filling:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Fruit layer:
- 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and chopped fine
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Streusel Topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Caramel Topping
How to make Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars?
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a food processor, combine the crust ingredients and pulse until dough is formed. Press the dough firmly into the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking pan lined with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly browned.
- Blend the cream cheese and the sugar together in a medium bowl. Add the eggs one at a time and then the vanilla. Beat until smooth. Pour over the warm crust.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the ingredients for the fruit layer. Spoon evenly over the cream cheese filling.
- In a small bowl, combine the ingredients for the streusel topping and sprinkle evenly over the fruit layer. Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from the oven and allow the dessert bars to cool slightly before cutting.
- Drizzle caramel topping over the dessert bars. Recipe makes 12 servings.
