So, this recipe for Caramel Pecan Bars hits all the right notes, sweet, soft, and a bit salty from the pecans.

Only 7 ingredients are required to make these tasty treats. The butter and brown sugar are used to make a sweet caramel. The remaining ingredients are added and form a luscious batter. Caramel Pecan Bars Recipe

What’s needed?

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups pecans, chopped
  • Powdered sugar for garnish

How to make Caramel Pecan Bars?

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit. Begin by making the caramel. Add the butter and brown sugar to a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Remove the saucepan from the stove.
  • In a large bowl, mix the eggs, vanilla, and butter mixture until combined. 
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour and the baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir in the pecans.
  • Spread the mixture in a 13×9-inch baking pan that has been greased with cooking spray.
  • Bake the pecan bars at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool the bars slightly in the pan before cutting into squares.
