Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Published on February 1, 2017 by Raveaboutfood

These mouth-watering cookies are a variation of the traditional Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I’ve added some peanut butter and oats to the dough and used both mini semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate chips to make these Double Chocolate Chip Cookies. Double the chocolatey goodness…YUM!

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

This cookie has a nice combination of white and mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. A little bit of oats added to the recipe makes them more substantial. Double Chocolate Chip Cookies are great for an afterschool snack or a grab-and-go treat for the little ones in your life.

How can I add protein to my cookies?

Adding peanut butter is a great way to add protein to recipes. I’ve added some to this recipe and it makes the cookies delicious. It also gives them more protein and makes them a good choice for an after school treat for kids who are headed out the door to a sporting event. If you’re not looking to add calories, use a low-sugar peanut butter for your recipes. These cookies are satisfying and tasty!

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

What’s needed?

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened (1 stick)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to make Double Chocolate Chip Cookies?

  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Combine the dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Set aside. Using a stand mixer, beat the butter, peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Add the vanilla and eggs. Mix until blended.
  • Add the dry ingredients in small amounts until all is combined. Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate and white chocolate chips.
  • Using a 1 1/2-inch scoop, place large balls of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. This recipe makes about 20-22 cookies depending on the size of your scoop. Each cookie is about three inches wide when baked. If you want smaller cookies, remember to reduce your baking time accordingly.
Scoop cookie dough onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for about 13-14 minutes. Cookies will be lightly golden brown. Remove cookies from the oven and allow to cool on the cookie sheet for 5 minutes.

Remove cookies from the cookie sheet and store them in an airtight container. You will want to make a second batch because the first one will be gone in a flash! Happy baking!
