There are only six ingredients in this yummy Fall dessert. And there’s nothing better than the smell of warm apples and cinnamon baking in your oven.

This dessert is affordable and delicious! How can that be possible when it takes only 15 minutes to prepare this sweet treat before popping it in the oven? The lemon-lime soda works with the light brown sugar to make a rich, syrupy glaze for the dumplings while they bake. Such a simply ingredient, but it really packs a flavorful PUNCH!

Easy Apple Dumplings Recipe

What’s needed?

  • 1 tube of Pillsbury Grands Biscuits (5 biscuits)
  • 1 yellow delicious (or Granny Smith) apple, cored and cut into 10 thin slices
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 can lemon-lime carbonated soda

How to make Easy Apple Dumplings?

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Peel the apple and cut it into 10 thin slices. Put the apple slices in a bowl and toss them with 1 tablespoon of light brown sugar. Set the bowl aside. Separate the biscuits and roll each one into a flat circle.
Roll out the dough.
  • Put 2 apple slices in the center of the dough and pinch the edges together. Place all 5 dumplings in a 8×8-inch baking pan.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. When melted, remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the remaining brown sugar until blended. Spoon the sugar mixture over the dumplings.
  • Pour the 1/2 can of soda in the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top of the apple dumplings.
Add the lemon-lime soda to the pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes until the dumplings are browned and cooked through. Remove the pan from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10 minutes and the sauce will thicken slightly.
