Freezer Bag Stand
During the summer months I like to freeze fresh vegetables and fruits to use when the weather gets colder. I freeze blackberries, tomatoes, green peppers, strawberries, corn and peaches every year. I found a kitchen tool that makes this process easier— MUCH easier. It is called a Freezer Bag Stand and has become one of my favorite gadgets to use in the kitchen. Here’s how to get one…
A few years ago, I came across a page called Passionate Penny Pincher on Facebook. They offer many ways to save money, including clipping coupons and making inexpensive meals for your family. They also offer a variety of planners, recipe card boxes, freezer meal plans and handy kitchen accessories. This is one of the handiest gadgets I’ve found in a long while.
What is a freezer bag stand?
The freezer bag stand has a small base with two adjustable arms that reach up to hold your freezer bags open. So convenient and so easy to use. The clips at the top of each arm hold your bag upright while holding the top of the bag wide open so you can place food inside.
I used my freezer bag stand again today to hold bags while I peeled and cut peaches. Previously, I would put my sliced peaches in a bowl, then transfer them to a freezer bag while trying to hold it open with one hand. Not the easiest way to get the job done. And I always had an extra bowl or two to wash and put away when I was finished.
With the freezer bag stand, it is simple to fit the top edges of your plastic bag in each clip and then extend the arms on the stand to the right height. The freezer bag stand will work with sandwich size, quart size or gallon size bags. And there is nothing extra to wash and put away when you are done.
To store my freezer bag holder, I push the arms down as far as they will go and set it in my kitchen cabinet. It doesn’t take very much room to store, as it measures only 4 inches across the base and 7 inches high, and is made of durable plastic. It is easy to grab from the cupboard when I need it.
