Peanut Butter Granola
Do you love granola? We love it with yogurt, on ice cream and in parfaits. Homemade Peanut Butter Granola is a healthy alternative to store-bought granola and making it yourself saves money. You probably have most of the necessary ingredients in your pantry. Old fashioned oats, maple syrup, honey and peanut butter come together to make this crunchy breakfast treat.
It takes less than 30 minutes to make a large batch of crunchy granola, which should last you about two weeks. This Peanut Butter Granola is one of our go-to breakfast treats. Loaded with oats, peanut butter and maple syrup, it is flavorful and versatile. We eat it often with yogurt for breakfast, but we also put it in milkshakes, parfaits and over ice cream.
I also make a variety of other flavors, if peanut butter isn’t your favorite. Butter Pecan Granola and Pumpkin Spice Granola are deliciously crunchy and full of protein. Granola never lasts long in my house.

What can I add to granola?
There are so many great add-ins for granola! One of our favorite combinations is made by adding dried banana chips, as peanut butter and banana are just made for each other. You could also add in some dried cherries, dried cranberries or dehydrated strawberries, giving you a sweet, fruity flavor with the peanut butter. Another add-in we do often is dark chocolate chunks. Who can resist peanut butter and dark chocolate?
How to serve granola?
There are a number of ways to serve Peanut Butter Granola for breakfast, a mid-afternoon snack or a delightful dessert.
- We prefer to use this granola in PB&J Parfaits. Take a small glass and layer vanilla yogurt, granola, jam and fruit to make these creamy crunchy parfaits. Make them ahead and store in the refrigerator for up to two days.
- Peanut Butter granola is also delicious over ice cream. It adds that crunchy element to your dessert and creates an affordable sweet treat that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
- Add protein to a smoothie or milkshake by adding a scoop of granola to the blender while whipping one up. Oats add fiber and nutrition to any blended drink.
