Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule
Moscow Mules are a go-to cocktail for holidays and special occasions in our home. A Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule is a seasonal version of this tasty blend. Add some pumpkin and a pinch of cinnamon to take this classic drink to the next level. It will quickly become one of your favorite holiday cocktails.
There’s nothing better than a tasty cocktail to remind us of the bright, fresh flavors of the season. Cranberry, pecan and pumpkin are fall and winter flavors that are used to enhance our cooking and baking. So, why not include them in your favorite festive drinks?
What is a Moscow Mule?
Created in America in the 1940’s, A Moscow Mule standardly consists of vodka, ginger beer and lime juice. Pumpkin vodka shines through as the star in this drink, along with a supporting cast of pumpkin puree and seasonal spices. This is a drink that is easy to make and even easier to savor.
A Moscow Mule is typically served in a copper mug. The copper keeps your cocktail colder for a longer period of time, enhancing the flavor of the vodka. I always put my copper mugs in the freezer the day before I use them so they stay as cold as possible.
Where can I find Pumpkin Vodka?
Several distilleries make pumpkin vodka, which is the main ingredient in this tasty concoction. Pinnacle and Smirnoff are just two brands that offer Pumpkin Vodka throughout the fall and winter months for use in a variety of cozy cocktails. Grocery stores and liquor stores usually carry Pumpkin Vodka in the Fall.
Blending the pumpkin vodka with pumpkin puree, ginger beer and warm spices, like nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and ginger, gives the drink a rich and slightly spicy taste. Adding fresh lime juice to each mug, adds a bright, citrusy note.
It doesn’t have to be a special occasion to enjoy the seasonal flavors of this inviting cocktail. Whether you’re just relaxing after dinner or you have invited guests for a holiday celebration, this seasonal blend fits the bill. These cocktails are tasty enough to replace that piece of pie or slice of cake after a big meal.
Cheers to making a Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule!
