Seasonal Reference Guide

What should I cook today? Whether it is fresh asparagus in the spring, sweet corn in the summer, squash in the fall, or potatoes and cabbage in the winter, I always look for seasonal vegetables and fruits to include in the meals I make for my family.

Ingredients that are in season are more affordable because vegetables and fruits that are locally grown and ripened naturally are more abundant. More importantly, seasonal produce tastes better, because it is fresher and more nutritious.

Cooking with In-Season Ingredients

Cooking with vegetables that are fresh and ripe will always make the most flavorful dishes. Adding seasonal items to your meals will enhance your meals and ensure that you and your family are eating the healthiest and most vibrant foods available.

You’ll find me making Strawberry Feta Salad and Asparagus Spirals in the spring, Sweet Corn Salsa and Frozen Peach Pie in the summer, Crock Pot Potatoes and Green Beans and Fall Harvest Vegetable Soup in the fall, and Stuffed Cabbage Rolls and cozy soups like Creamy Sausage and Tortellini Soup in the winter.

Seasonal Vegetable Guide

This Seasonal Vegetable Guide will help you focus on what produce is in season, affordable, and FRESH. Your meals will always taste the best with produce and other items that are grown locally and harvested in season.
