Pork Chops and Cabbage with Bacon Recipe
What’s needed?
- 6 pork sirloin chops
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup flour
- garlic salt
- 1/4 cup canola oil
- 2 cups seasoned panko crumbs
- 1/2 head cabbage, chopped
- 6 slices of bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 4 tablespoons butter
How to make Pork Chops with Bacon?
- Put the milk, flour and panko crumbs each on separate plates. Dip each pork chop in flour, then in milk, then in the panko crumbs until well coated.
- Add the canola oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Place the breaded chops in the skillet and cook until golden, about 3 to 5 minutes. Turn each chop and brown the other side. Sprinkle with garlic salt.
- Place the browned chops on a wire rack in the bottom of a baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Now for the cabbage! Yes, that’s right, cooked cabbage…with bacon and butter. Well, I never said it was low in calories. Here we go…
- Heat a non-stick skillet to medium high heat. Add bacon and cook until nearly crisp and brown. Add the butter and melt. Add the cabbage over the bacon.
- Saute the cabbage until soft, about 12-15 minutes.
