Sweet and Spicy Sliders

Who can resist a classic burger with cheese? These sliders are the perfect addition to your next barbecue. The sweet barbecue sauce and spicy Sriracha added to the meat mixture only makes them better, giving you a zesty, juicy burger that’s easy to handle and even easier to eat.

Sweet and Spicy Sliders Recipe

What’s needed:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef, 80/20 blend
  • 2/3 cups bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup Sriracha sauce (or hot sauce will work)
  • 1/4 cup honey barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dry Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small onion, diced (optional)
  • 6 slider buns
  • lettuce, tomato slices for topping

How to make Sweet and Spicy Sliders?

  • Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix together by hand. The milk keeps the burgers moist while grilling.
  • Form the meat mixture into small patties about 3 inches across. Depending on the size of your slider, you will get 6-8 patties/servings. Be sure to make an indentation in the center of your burger, since the middle of the burger expands during grilling.
  • Put the sliders on a grill heated to medium heat, about 350 degrees. Cook for 6-7 minutes.
  • Add a pinch of grilling seasoning (or just salt and pepper) to each slider. Flip and grill for another 5-6 minutes on the other side. Do not overcook them, as they will become dry.

  • Remove the burgers from the grill and allow them to rest for a few minutes. Serve them on slider buns with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. I mixed a splash of Sriracha sauce into my mayonnaise for added flavor. Recipe makes 6 sliders.

I served these Sweet and Spicy Sliders with grilled corn on the cob and a tall glass of lemonade! Just perfect for a kicked up summer meal!
