Tennessee Peach Pudding
This recipe from Taste of Home is a delicious blend of southern peaches, brown sugar and pecans. It is similar to cobbler, but the fruit on the bottom becomes thicker than a traditional cobbler. Make Tennessee Peach Pudding and you’ll quickly add it to your list of favorite summer dessert recipes.
As a Community Cook for Taste of Home, it has been fun to make and review recipes. I always find a recipe that is so good that I make it again and again. Tennessee Peach Pudding is one of those recipes.
And it all starts with juicy, ripe peaches. During our travels we found a peach farm in eastern North Carolina— Johnson’s Peach Farm. They sell the best peaches we’ve had in years. Sweet and delicious, every single time.
I like to use yellow cling-free peaches. I think yellow peaches are a bit sweeter than white, and the cling-free variety means that they are easy to peel and the pit comes out cleanly. Simply make a slice around the center of the peach and twist. Then remove the pit, peel each half, and slice the peaches!
Tennessee Peach Pudding
I gave this recipe for Tennessee Peach Pudding 5 stars on tasteofhome.com. The only addition I made to the original recipe was sprinkling 1/2 cup of chopped pecans over the peaches before pouring the hot water and sugar mixture on the dessert. We like the added crunch of the pecans. This one is a keeper!
