Ingredients
1poundlean ground beef
1/2teaspoongarlic salt
1/2teaspoonblack pepper
1/2mediumonion, chopped
1/2cupketchup
1tablespoonmustard
2tablespoonsrelish, sweet or dill, optional
1tubebiscuit dough, 8 biscuits
2tablespoonsbutter, melted
8slicesAmerican cheese
Instructions
In a large skillet, brown the onion and ground beef. Add the salt and pepper and cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the ketchup, mustard, and relish and cook on low for 5 more minutes.
While the meat mixture is cooking on low, roll out the biscuit dough. Dust the counter with a bit of flour and use a pizza roller or rolling pin to roll the dough into 6 inch discs.
Place 1/3 cup of the meat mixture inside each circle of dough and fold the edges around the meat to make a pocket. Bring together the edges of the dough and pinch at the top. Don't worry if a bit of the meat shows through.
Place the cheeseburger pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each bundle with melted butter. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, place a slice of mild cheddar cheese on top of each cheeseburger pocket. Bake for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and pockets are golden brown. Remove the sheet pan from the oven and allow the pockets to cool slightly before serving.
