A delicious crinkle cookie is topped with a chocolate kiss candy to make Red Velvet Kiss Cookies, a sweet holiday treat.

Ingredients
1 3/4cupsall-purpose flour
4tablespoonscocoa powder
1/4cuppowdered sugar
1teaspoonbaking soda
1/4teaspoonsalt
1/2cupunsalted butter, softened (1 stick)
1/2cupwhite sugar
1egg
1egg yolk
1teaspoonvanilla
1/4cupmilk
2teaspoonsred food coloring
1/4cuppowdered sugar , in a separate bowl
24milk chocolate Hershey Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the first 5 dry ingredients in a medium bowl and set aside.
In a stand mixer, beat the butter and sugar together. Add the egg, egg yolk, vanilla, and milk and beat until creamy. Add the red food coloring and mix until combined.
Gradually add the dry ingredients until blended. The dough will be thick and reddish-brown.
Using a 1 inch scoop, place rounded balls of dough into the bowl of powdered sugar and roll until covered. Shake off the excess sugar from each cookie.
Place the cookies about 3 inches apart on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove them from the oven and allow the cookies to cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet.
Press an unwrapped Hershey Kiss in the center of each cookie. Remove cookies from the baking sheet to a cooling rack. This recipe makes 24 cookies.
